Our sloe gin is really something rather special. We don't use any of our other gins as its base but instead have developed a special gin recipe to create a wonderful juniper canvas on which to paint the rich plum and almond flavours of the sloes.
We don't like overly sweet sloe gins either and so sweeten ours at the end of the 12-month maceration so we get just the right balance between a silky mouth-feel and just enough sweetness to balance the tartness from the sloes without it becoming sickly sweet.
Serve neat in a sherry glass, simply over ice, or top up with bubbly in a flute glass for a sloe gin fizz. Lovely!
